- Why did you choose procurement recruitment as a career?
From an early age my peers would continuously tell me how I could demonstrate the benefits of anything, which I would often utilise as a child to persuade someone that my idea was best (i.e. to get my own way!) and as I got older I realised the benefits of this trait within a sales environment. I’ve also always had a passion for people where I truly enjoy understanding people and helping in any way possible.
The combination of these two factors led me to the world of recruitment where I can operate within a sales environment that helps people to find their dream job and I haven’t looked back since!
Why Procurement specifically?
My passion for procurement started whilst at University when I studied a module on Procurement and Supply Chain where I started to realise my love for the subject, which was evident from achieving my first 1st class grade from an assignment.
- What sort of procurement roles do you recruit and where?
With regards to industry, I specialise across the Consumer space within Procurement Heads, so I operate across a range of industries which includes but is not limited to Retail, Technology, FMCG, Travel, Leisure and E-Commerce.
The specific procurement positions I work tend to sit within the indirect procurement space covering all generalist categories from IT and FM procurement to Capex and Logistics procurement. The level of positions I recruit for are predominantly within the mid-senior range, however, I have strong capabilities at all levels.
I specialise within the UK market where I have a strong network nationwide. My core locations are within London, West Midlands and Hampshire.
- What qualities do you believe are integral to being a successful procurement recruiter?
There are a number of key qualities which are essential to being a successful recruiter which I believe is centred around truly caring for people’s needs. This is in relation to fully understanding diverse client needs to ensure we provide a best-in-class service as well as gaining an authentic understanding of differing candidate needs to ultimately find them their next exciting career journey.
- How would you describe yourself? What Inspires you?
I would describe myself as an enthusiastic and passionate recruiter who wants to succeed in every way possible by continuously developing my reputation within the market through providing invaluable expertise and a tailored service to differing client and candidates needs and wants.
Outside of work I love to surf and travel where any adventure or challenge always inspires me!
