Senior Buyer | Leading Insurance Provider | Surrey

A leading Insurance Provider is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their Surrey-based team. This is a great opportunity to join a large blue-chip organisation.

In this exciting Senior Buyer role, you will work at a strategic level with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to optimise the value delivered across the organisation.

Working alongside Category Managers you will be able to push your career to the next step with the relevant support around you. 

As Senior Buyer your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver on agreed service targets and service delivery 
  • Partner and develop effective relationships with the service teams to ensure the right supplier base is in place that delivers the right quality, price and required due diligence 
  • Coordinate and lead Procurement initiatives and develops Category strategy 
  • Support on all sourcing and supplier management activities 
  • Lead the development and implementation of category strategies and sourcing processes across the business units to ensure lowest cost of ownership 
  • Conduct market analysis, negotiation and contracting activities with supplier based on strategic aspects 
  • Conduct tactical and strategic sourcing projects via approved channels and facilities storage 
  • Manage risk through robust due diligence practices in alignment with existing guidance and processes 

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience: 

  • 3-5 years’ experience of working in the indirect services procurement category 
  • Proven track record of identifying and delivering cost savings and other added value 
  • Excellent stakeholder management, with senior-level exposure 
  • Knowledge of Contract Law and ability to work alongside the in-house legal team for contract negotiations 
  • Experience of working with Ariba or other strategic sourcing platforms (desired) 
  • Basic understanding of the P2P process, not essential 
  • Services/Consulting background preferred but not essential 
  • MCIPS – qualified or working towards qualification (preferred)
