Procurement Heads is recruiting a Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Manager (Non-IT) for a dynamic and growing financial services business.

A dynamic and growing financial services group operating in a niche pocket of the insurance market is recruiting a Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Manager (Non-IT) to lead on sourcing delivery of medium-spend and risk-profiled opportunities. 
  
Working within a small but talented team with a relatively large spend profile and reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, the role will include idea generation and innovation across multiple indirect spend categories and working collaboratively with relevant key stakeholders to create and deliver significant commercial value.

Based in the heart of London’s insurance district, the business operates a hybrid approach to working with people typically going into the office 1-2 days per week.
  
As Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Manager (Non-IT), your key responsibilities will be:

  • Developing and undertaking the sourcing process for medium-spend goods or services, influencing annual spend in the range of £5-20m, managing all risk, legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Developing and implementing integrated category strategies for medium spend profiled categories and reviewing on an annual, ongoing basis
  • Creating a qualified savings and benefits pipeline in collaboration with relevant stakeholders approved by finance and applied to budgets
  • Working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders and being responsible for ensuring consistent utilisation of the supply management framework to include the development of joint account plans, benefits and savings, continuous improvement targets and relationship-development modelling
  • Lead negotiator of significant, multi-million savings and benefits throughout the contract and relationship lifecycle including the management and resolution of contract variations and disputes
  • Establishing a collaborative way of working with all relevant stakeholders and preferred suppliers that supports the successful transition of sourcing-led execution to strategic supplier collaboration 
  • Challenging demand and aggregation of stakeholder requirements to maximise overall value while aligning with stakeholders’ objectives and priorities 
  • Conducting regular competitor and suppliers market watch assessments in the delivery of the optimal total cost of ownership
  • Providing specialist advice to key stakeholders, introducing innovation, expertise and ideas to deliver sourcing and supplier-management-led competitive advantage

Skills and experience:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of procurement, including market analysis, negotiation, tender management, supplier management and sourcing strategies
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of contract law including contract negotiation
  • Knowledge of project and change management
  • Educated to a degree standard or equivalent and MCIPS qualified (or equivalent professional body with chartered status)
  • Minimum of 5 years sourcing experience, with a demonstrable track record of leading multi-million-pound savings and benefits delivery
  • Commercial leader, with a solution-driven, innovative, cost and value-led mindset.
  • Outstanding communication and business partnering skillset
  • Demonstrable depth of procurement leadership experience
  • Proven level of negotiation and dispute resolution skill set
  • Experience with cross-functional collaborative working methods
  • Politically aware, with the ability to use direct and indirect influencing strategies
  • Demonstrable level of problem-solving experience in complex organisations
  • Must be able to manage multiple workloads, conflict, and complexity under pressure – possessing the ability to translate complex issues into a simple, straightforward manner, and communicate these accordingly
