Sourcing Manager – IT & Indirects

The F&PS Practice are partnering with a market leading insurance company to support with the appointment of an Indirect Sourcing Manager. This is a newly created role, leading on the management and delivery of key sourcing activities and contract negotiations, to deliver strong commercial outcomes specifically across IT and wider Business Services.

As the Sourcing Manager, you’ll execute and take accountability for the delivery of significant and high complexity sourcing projects across IT and digital technology while supporting in-house functions. This will include but is not limited to working closely with HR, Marketing, Finance and other stakeholders across the organisation. 

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be joining a reputable procurement team that has been growing from strength to strength. Culturally, the team work well together and act as Business Partners and advisors to the senior leadership teams across the business. While at times challenged, they have successfully tripled their savings target as part of their strategic plans and are busier than ever, in growing their project portfolios.

Responsibilities of the role will include

  • Develop and contribute to category (and sub-category) strategies for IT Business Services spend in line with department objectives
  • Drive maximum and market leading commercial value from sourcing exercises and negotiations, actively seeking out opportunities which lead to; cost reduction, improved service quality and/or operational efficiency gains for the organisation
  • Develop strong relationships with senior management, and supplier relationship managers, in order to quickly understand requirements, priorities and challenges
  • Guide, advise and coach key stakeholders and relevant assurance functions on all aspects of Procurement (S2P) and ensure that all relevant policies and governance processes are adhered to

Suitable candidate criteria

  • A deep understanding of IT procurement (desired)
  • Experience of managing Corporate/Professional Services categories
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proven track-record of highly developed commercial and contract negotiation skills
