This is a newly created role at a pivotal time for the business, as they undergo significant Finance and Technology transformations. Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality solutions
- Partner with departmental heads to set realistic cost expectations and maintain accurate financial forecasts
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, optimise procurement processes, and enhance efficiency
- Assess procurement risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure business continuity through contingency planning
- Negotiate supplier contracts and ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards
- Deliver timely, insightful cost reports and performance analysis to senior management.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, and Legal teams to align procurement with organisational needs
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a senior procurement role, ideally within a private equity-backed, real estate, or consumer-focused business
- Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, supply chain management, and contract negotiation
- Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis techniques
- Ability to analyse complex data, solve problems, and make informed decisions
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel or financial modelling skills
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (professional certifications such as ACA, CFA, or CMA preferred)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised, commercially minded, and proactive with a flexible, resilient attitude
