Senior IT Procurement Manager | FTSE 250 Retail Brand | London

A FTSE 250 retail brand with an innovative Group Procurement transformation agenda is recruiting a Senior IT Procurement Manager to lead end-to-end sourcing and SRM activities across its IT Transformation and Software category.

The business’ Procurement function works with pace and agility and therefore requires a driven Senior IT Procurement Manager with tenacity and energy, coupled with the ability to adapt style to different stakeholders.

As Senior IT Procurement Manager you will:

  • Develop, implement and manage sourcing strategies for the stated category, ensuring ongoing value for money and the delivery of innovative procurement solutions
  • Provide Procurement support to business transformation and wider change agenda
  • Deliver annual Procurement financial targets and challenges
  • Engage stakeholders across the category, including at a senior level, ensuring regular communication and reporting on progress against business objectives
  • Effectively manage supplier relationships, acting as an ambassador for the business’ values and company strategy
  • Support category reporting, savings tracking, and spend data tracking
  • Utilise Procurement systems to ensure compliance of category to the business’ Procurement policies, including contract storage and sourcing process governance
  • Accountable for:
    • Category sourcing strategy
    • Compliance with Procurement financial controls
    • Category performance analytics and reporting
    • Compliance with Procurement policies and process
    • Supplier optimisation and consolidation
    • Delivery against team cost savings targets

Skills and experience required:

  • Strong category background and 5 years’ proven experience in a hands-on sourcing role of a FTSE 100/250 Procurement function
  • Ability to motivate, organise and manage self to deliver to challenging deadlines
  • Experience in retail desirable but not essential
  • Experience of managing long-term, complex, high-value, high-risk contracts 
  • Strong networking and stakeholder management/influencing skills at senior and executive level
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentational skills, able to communicate complex, commercial information to non-commercial stakeholders
  • Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong negotiation skillset, demonstrable experience in successfully developing and executing negotiating strategies, coupled with the ability to ‘sell’ the approach amongst internal stakeholders
  • Strong contract negotiation skills and ability to create associated schedules of legal agreements
  • Proven ability to deliver substantial cost saving and service benefits
  • Proven dynamic and self-motivating style, with energy and drive to deliver at pace and drive change

  • Degree educated
  • Professional Qualifications (MCIPS) desirable
  • Preferably GAP qualification or equivalent
  • Composed and calm under pressure, able to prioritise and manage multiple projects and requirements
  • High levels of initiative and self-motivation
  • Flexibility to adapt to different and challenging circumstances
  • Able to challenge and influence stakeholders, while also maintaining relationships
