A market leading privately owned retail organisation is seeking to appoint an HR & Professional Services Category Manager due to internal promotion.
A privately-owned retail organisation operating in over 11 countries with a Procurement team that has been in place for only 3 years is looking to appoint its next Senior Global Category Manager for HR & Professional Services due to an internal promotion.
Reporting to the Head of Indirects with a spend profile of c£100m, you will business partner with stakeholders to understand their requirements in order to deliver good procurement projects and outcomes. You won’t have any direct reports but you will have shared resources in the form of Category Buyers to second onto projects etc.
This role is not about delivering cost savings. In fact, your bonus is not dependant on it, nor are you given cost savings targets. This is about using your intellect and curiosity to move your categories forward and deliver valued outcomes to your stakeholders. This is how you are measured.
If you like processes, systems and data to inform your thinking, this is not the role for you. If however, you are working in an environment like this and it is stifling your entrepreneurial mindset, this is definitely the place for you.
Examples of some key projects you will be involved in include:
- Sourcing a new Bank for certain markets
- Looking at potential AP Systems
- Overhauling L&D and sourcing new suppliers to fit business objectives
- Post-Covid contingent labour projects as the strategy was set up in 2016 and needs revisiting.
Up and coming talent is discussed in quarterly Board meetings so if it’s progression you are after, there is a path for you. This organisation promoted over 100 people last year and the retention rates are unprecedented.
Aside from Michelin Starred chefs and profit-sharing party days, your bonus is paid quarterly and at the on-target level for your grading. No hoops to jump through to justify why you should get one!
If you are a passionate procurement professional who loves to get under the skin of their stakeholders and has a philosophy on Category Management that is not focused on ‘the deals’ or the savings you make, this is absolutely an environment you will thrive in.
