Senior Buyer

Procurement Heads' Industrial practice is working with a renowned utilities company in support of their procurement department recruitment.

This Senior Buyer role is within the procurement team focusing specifically on major contracts for a variety of projects.
  
As Senior Buyer you will be responsible for:

  • Leading high-value, high-risk strategic sourcing events and category strategies that are vital to the business
  • Engaging and building strong working relationships with stakeholders to identify business needs
  • Ensuring you understand the supply chains to offer the best solutions
  • Building relationships and partnering with the business to secure supply and manage demand
  • Working with the supply chain to drive innovation, exploring new markets and technologies
  • Driving sustainability and social value

Experience and qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting the development and delivery of category or sourcing strategies and management of tendering events
  • Can confidently communicate, engage, and build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Effective project management skills
  • Can collate and organise data, analyse commercial issues and bring insight into the detail of costs and contracts
  • Can effectively solve problems
  • Proactive with a positive attitude and desire to learn 
  • A CIPS qualification or working towards is beneficial but we can support professional development
