Purchasing and Supply Manager

A leading multi-national organisation which is seeking to appoint a Purchasing and Supply Manager.

Due to substantial growth, it is now essential that the procurement within the organisation is given a strategic direction and that the supplier relationships are managed appropriately to improve on-time-in-full delivery.
Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for two direct reports, whilst executing Supply Chain Operations to achieve short- and long-term goals.

There is a focus on continuous improvement processes, cost reduction across multiple SKUs, increasing efficiencies and developing specific Inventory control strategies.
As Purchasing and Supply Manager your key responsibilities will be:

  • Provide procurement and supply chain strategic direction
  • Supply chain planning and management including logistics and warehousing.
  • Tracking stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Plan future capacity requirements, forecast demand and define inventory strategy
  • Negotiate supply contracts and monitor their delivery performance
  • Oversee warehousing, routing and processing of shipments (including an understanding of import requirements and documentation)
  • Manage cost centre budgets, productivity and accuracy
  • Drive change management across the departments
  • Prepare monthly reports as required.
  • Work across all levels of the business to improve stock utilisation and exceed service level targets.

  Skills and experience:

  • SAP experience essential
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Knowledge of the construction supply chain will be beneficial with prior experience in driving change
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills and ability to influence at senior management level both internally and externally
  • Experience in leading strategic change
  • Experience in negotiating supplier contracts and management of KPIs
  • Proven experience in setting up and managing new stock management and warehouse processes, procedures and systems.
  • Experience in midterm supply chain planning including demand forecasting, capacity planning and inventory management
  • Experience in identifying, reporting and managing key areas of risk
