Procurement Transformation (Public Sector)

Procurement Heads is delighted to partner with a global management consultancy to hire multiple Procurement Transformation Leads.

These roles are primarily focused on supporting a Central Government client to build procurement knowledge and skills capability in line with the new Procurement Bill due to come in later this year.

As well as this there will also be opportunities to work on other procurement transformation projects across the public sector. 

These roles are an opportunity to work for a blue-chip company, with offices in over 140 countries worldwide and staff numbers in the hundreds of thousands.

With 20+ offices around the UK, you can be based out of any of the locations for 2 days a week as part of their hybrid working model.

What will you be doing? 

  • Lead the delivery and facilitation of an ‘Advanced Course of Deep Dives’ to mixed cohorts of procurement practitioners from across central government and the wider public sector.
  • Provide learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding to operate confidently under the new regulatory regime, fully utilizing its flexibilities to achieve better outcomes from procurement.
  • Leverage expertise and network to help generate and win new business opportunities within procurement learning and other transformation-related work.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proven pedagogical experience in educating, enthusing, and coaching, with a focus on creating a positive learner-focused online experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of procurement processes, including category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier risk management.
  • Experience in leading and managing procurement capability within the public sector.
  • Working knowledge of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle and core public procurement policies, directives, and regulations.
  • Experience and knowledge of designing and implementing procurement operating model changes.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Affiliation to a commercial professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
  • Experience in complex cost reduction programmes across direct and indirect spend, including the use of advanced procurement analytics techniques.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the current procurement technology market and trends.
