Procurement Specialist

A leading provider in insurance across the UK, this company is undergoing exciting change and diversification. As a result, a newly structured Procurement team is embarking on a journey towards strategic category management. As Procurement Specialist you will play a pivotal role in establishing such change and rolling out new models across the business.

Joining at such an exciting time you will be well placed to gain progression in a growing team. You will work across a range of projects within the indirects categories, both in conjunction with Procurement Managers and on an autonomous level. With support of the leadership team you will develop your strategic ability, thus taking on further responsibility. You will also work directly with the Procurement Lead in rolling out a new model across the business; an on-going project that you will contribute to.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• To support the Lead Procurement Manager with rolling out new operational processes, driving stakeholder engagement
• Work with Procurement Managers on a range of projects across the business
• Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders
• Conduct relevant analysis and report to Procurement Lead with relevant data
• Provide consultative and operational support to the business and to the Procurement Managers
• Undertake the Procurement processes to secure maximum value

Skills and Experience Required:

• Strong Procurement experience within a strategic team, with desire to expand such experience within a developing team
• End to end Procurement process experience
• An understanding of SRM
• Insurance industry knowledge
• Excellent people skills
• Natural problem solver
• An understanding and ability to identify supplier/ service risks
• Naturally inquisitive
• Appetite to learn and develop
• Ability to work and adapt to a constantly changing and fast paced environment
