Procurement Specialist

I am delighted to be recruiting for a highly innovative insurance organisation in Surrey who are looking to recruit an IT Procurement Analyst. The company has a turnover of £98 million and has become one of the fastest selling insurance brands in the UK. This role will be reporting into the IT Asset and Sourcing Manager and you will be a crucial part of the IT procurement.

The organisation was founded 20 years ago by their innovative MD and create insurance products that have changed the market. They have exciting creative marketing that drives customers to their business. They became the fastest growing insurance brand in the UK until they were bought by a parent company with an annual turnover of 105 billion.

In this role you will be negotiating with existing IT suppliers on a dual front: firstly, to analyse and procure new IT systems when required and secondly, you will be negotiating with existing suppliers to procure the relevant software licenses to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will need to manage key accounts, ensuring regular review and management. Whilst working with existing suppliers to ensure the best possible terms are reached.
  • You will be representing the procurement function on business projects feeding back to senior stakeholders on tender production and contract negotiations.
  • Complete analysis on IT spend and highlight savings opportunities, utilise analysis to advise external business users on new strategies.
  • You will also have to work closely with the Legal team to achieve the best terms and conditions within contracts.

What you will need to demonstrate:

You will have a strong understanding of procurement and be able to negotiate the best possible terms with suppliers. You will be able to maintain and build strong relationships with suppliers. You will be entering a team with pre-existing suppliers therefore; strong interpersonal skills are required to ensure these relationships are maintained. You will be influencing decision that would significantly impact the IT categories spend.

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Utilise data manipulation to identify areas of weakness or opportunity for improvement.
  • To have autonomy over your work without needing to be supervised.
  • Good decision-making skills carrying the confidence to challenge decisions.
  • Good negotiation skills.
