A highly acquisitive global services business is recruiting a Procurement Specialist.
Procurement Heads are delighted to be hiring a Procurement Specialist on behalf of a multi-billion pound global services business.
The role will report to the Head of Fleet, supporting them across tenders, SRM and providing excellent opportunities to learn and develop a wide-rounded skillset.
You’ll get the chance to work with a diverse range of suppliers with a Fleet spend of c.£50m.
Procurement is extremely well valued in the business and they see the function as a strong lever to drive their profitability through their upcoming growth plans.
You’ll work in Central London twice per month (flexibility required) with the rest of the role being conducted remotely.
Key responsibilities for the Procurement Specialist role:
- Supporting the Head of Fleet for ensuring Category Management approach is followed, including:-
- Helping develop and maintain high-quality category strategy plans
- Attending meetings with key stakeholders to agree on initiatives and priorities
- Drive initiatives, from the procurement point of view, to achieve on time and in full delivery
- Managing Strategic Sourcing projects (in line with Procurement Governance) from strategy development through to sourcing, negotiation and contract award with support from the line manager
- Commercial supplier management of critical strategic suppliers
- Accountable for ensuring all projects follow the agreed procurement governance and are managed using nominated systems as appropriate
- Supporting the creation and management of large complex sourcing events and negotiation activities with key suppliers, in line with Category strategies, ensuring supply chain solutions meet the business requirements and deliver in-year P&L impacting savings and efficiencies
- Helping build a clear and creditable opportunities pipeline (minimum 2-year vision) ensuring integration into the Global benefits tracker and demand calendar
- Working with managers and customers to develop capable stakeholder management skills and abilities to liaise with stakeholders of all levels confidently and autonomously building strong and effective relationships
- Driving supplier performance measures against which suppliers are monitored within a culture of continuous improvement and best practice, making recommendations to change suppliers where necessary
Key skills and experience for the Procurement Specialist role:
Essential:
- Some sourcing, procurement and contract management skills and experience with at least 1+ years of procurement experience
- Personal credibility with knowledge and understanding of commercial and operational requirements and able to present these with authority and conviction
- Good organisational skills
- Educated to degree level
- Good technical Procurement skills – i.e. ability to write and run full and compliant tenders, negotiate and develop contracts with support from the manager
- Ability to justify savings & negotiated benefits
Desirable:
- CIPS qualified or equivalent
- Influencing and communication skills, using a range of techniques to best effect. Able to deliver messages effectively at all levels
- Ability to negotiate, with good influencing skills. Ability to work as part of an effective team working with legal, procurement and technical professionals
- Maintaining and building a professional relationship
