Procurement Heads is pleased to be collaborating with a specialist organisation within the waste industry to seek a confident, detail-oriented, and proactive Procurement Specialist.
As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in monitoring market trends and building strong supplier relationships to be able to create innovative solutions for a broad clientele.
The Procurement Specialist will:
- Execute buying activities within an agreed procurement plan, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary requirements.
- Monitor the waste industry markets and conduct comprehensive research and analysis to determine market sentiment, enabling informed decision-making.
- Responsible for internal reporting, logging, and effective communication on trades, market movements, and prices.
- Develop and nurture strong supplier relationships, fostering collaboration and ensuring a reliable supply chain.
- Monitor results closely, analysing data and metrics to drive continuous improvement and achieve desired outcomes.
- Demonstrate exceptional persuasion skills, effectively influencing stakeholders to achieve desired results.
- Leverage commercial acumen to negotiate favourable terms, build long-term relationships, and maximize value for the organization.
Experience and qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement or buying roles, ideally with knowledge of recycling and environment agency requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills, utilizing data-driven insights to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for waste-related procurement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills within the waste sector, enabling the development of strong supplier relationships specific to waste management.
- Proactive mindset and taking initiative.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to build long-term relationships.
Salary and benefits:
- £35-40,000 per year
