Procurement Project Specialist | FTSE 250 | Plymouth

The Procurement Project Specialist will establish project requirements, including those driven by the future bid pipeline, provide design and engagement of a supply chain that meets project requirements and support the delivery of project objectives through the rigorous management of contract and supplier performance.

As Procurement Project Specialist you will be working for:

An established company trusted to provide highly-skilled engineering services are looking for someone to join the Supply Chain team who look after the material procurement, equipment overhaul and repair to ensure availability to support specific programmes. Reporting to the Procurement Manager the Project Procurement Specialist will have accountability, within a defined scope of materials and/or subcontract services, for the products’ Supply chain design, execution, and performance for the Business Unit’s project/projects.

You will also establish project requirements, including those driven by the future bid pipeline, provide design and engagement of a supply chain that meets project requirements and support the delivery of project objectives through the rigorous management of contract and supplier performance.

This role would suit someone seeking a career within Procurement and Supply Chain in a project facing role. Ideally, you will be an experienced procurement practitioner with knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques and relevant experience in Sourcing & Procurement.

Key responsibilities of the Procurement Project specialist role:

  • Contracts services management
  • Commercial contracts and so will need experience in terms and conditions, supplier relationship management
  • Flow down of terms,
  • engagement with customer

Experience required:

  • Experience of working in complex project environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent supply chain performance.
  • High quality communication ability, both written and orally.
  • Understanding of contract terms and conditions and the ability to manage subcontract terms including flow-down terms from customer contracts.

Skills required:

  • The successful candidate will need to satisfy the customers security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
  • Contracts writing and management skills
  • Comfortable with negotiations and internal stakeholder management
