Due to an upcoming Maternity leave in February, this Global FMCG organisation Headquartered in Hampshire is looking for an Interim Procurement Manager – Capex & MROon a 12 month FTC.

Reporting to the International Procurement Director, this role sits within the Global Indirect Procurement team, comprising local Category Managers. The Global Indirect Procurement team is part of the Global Procurement team who are also responsible for the global spend on packaging, raw materials, Indirect Goods and Services and freight and logistics. The Global Procurement team are also part of the Supply Strategic Centre.

This role is responsible for developing expert knowledge and designing and implementing effective strategies to manage the supply and maximise value for money for the Capex & MRO categories as well as supporting on a global SRM roll out.

This role will be working in a matrix organisation structure, which means that whilst the role will report through a solid line into the International Procurement Director, it will have close links with the Global Category Leader Indirects & Capability and the Regional Category Leader 3rd Party as well as other members of the Global Procurement Team.

The role will involve collaboration with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Social Impact, Finance, Marketing, Head Office functions as well as the wider Global Indirect Procurement team and suppliers on a daily basis.

As Procurement Manager (CAPEX & MRO), your key responsibilities will be:

  • Form and leads cross functional global teams to create and manage the delivery of the sourcing strategies for assigned categories, sub-categories and projects
  • Responsible for developing and retaining an expert knowledge of the market and the supplier base
  • Work closely with the Local Category Leaders and the Manufacturing teams to develop Supply / Procurement strategies for the assigned categories & sub-categories:
  • Support the stakeholders in developing a statement of requirements which considers the total cost of ownership, assurance of supply, quality, service and sustainability; and which is written in a way which allows the team to find new ways.
  • Responsible for working closely with cross-site and cross- functional teams to develop a supplier selection process which reduces cost, ensures continuity of supply, meets quality requirements, is compliant with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices and which adheres to the relevant laws and regulations across the Capex and MRO spend.
  • Responsible for planning and executing the price and contract negotiations, including developing service levels / KPI’s.
  • Leading supplier relationship management (performance measurement, improvement plans and attracting product and process innovation) efforts across the Group
  • Tracking the value benefit the business will derive from each of the sourcing strategies implemented
  • Supporting the wider Capex and MRO activities
  • Supporting the CO2 and Sustainability Strategy

Skills and experience:

It is likely that you will be CIPS qualified with 5yrs experience in managing CAPEX and MRO categories and strategies. This is an International role that requires you to liaise and be available to the business operating in other Countries. Multi-site, global experience would therefore be a huge advantage. In order to be successful, you must be able to evidence the following:
