Our client is a fast-growing, mission-led health brand on an ambitious growth journey, targeting over £50m turnover. Operating in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment, they are now looking to appoint a Procurement Manager to play a pivotal role in enabling the next phase of scale.
This is a standout opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional who understands what best-in-class looks like in the F&B, ingredients, retail or e-commerce world, and knows how to translate that into a high-pace, entrepreneurial business that is still finding its shape.
This Procurement Manager role goes far beyond transactional purchasing. Our client has a small but capable supply chain function, with planning, systems and operational controls already in place. The clear focus of this hire is procurement-led value creation.
This year is about making things happen, the business needs someone who can embrace ambiguity, move quickly, and deliver tangible commercial impact.
Key responsibilities Cost optimisation (core focus):
- Driving cost efficiencies across ingredients, manufacturing and packaging
- Challenging existing cost structures and supplier arrangements
- Supporting margin improvement through robust, data-led procurement decisions
Supplier sourcing & development:
- Identifying and onboarding new suppliers where current partners are no longer fit for purpose
- Improving agility within the supply base
- Building a scalable, resilient supply base to support growth
Packaging procurement:
- Leading the next phase
- Reviewing, consolidating and strategically developing the packaging supply base
- Improving cost, consistency and supplier performance
Global sourcing:
- Managing and negotiating with Far East suppliers, particularly China
- Balancing cost, quality, compliance and lead times in a growing international supply chain
Cross-functional collaboration:
- Working closely with supply chain, operations and senior leadership
- Bringing clarity, pace and commercial rigour to procurement decision-making
- Applying big-business best practice in a way that suits a scale-up environment
Candidate profile of the Procurement Manager
- Strong experience in procurement within FMCG, retail or consumer brands
- Background in, or exposure to, large retailers or established FMCG businesses
- A proven track record of cost optimisation and supplier negotiation
- Experience sourcing from Asia / China
- Comfortable operating in a business that is scaling rapidly and evolving
- Commercial, pragmatic and delivery-focused
