Job Description: Procurement Heads’ Interim FMCG team has partnered with a highly respected, multinational consumer goods business to recruit a Indirect Buyer on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.

As General Procurement Buyer, you will take ownership of the Indirect category for the UK&I region (based in London), while supporting wider General Procurement activity as required. You’ll be responsible for translating group level procurement strategies into effective local execution – driving value, compliance, and strong supplier partnerships across a fast paced, high performing environment.

About the Role: You will lead your assigned procurement categories, analysing supplier capabilities, cost structures, and market dynamics to develop sourcing strategies aligned with commercial and operational objectives. Working closely with the Procurement Manager, you will deliver initiatives that create value across the short, medium, and long term, ensuring full compliance with internal procurement procedures and governance.
A key part of the role will be managing supplier performance through structured reviews, scorecards, and service level agreements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, timeliness, flexibility, and cost efficiency across all supplier interactions.
You will also manage the full sourcing lifecycle, from tender preparation and supplier briefing to negotiation and contract award ensuring clarity, accountability, and strong commercial outcomes.
Alongside your strategic responsibilities, you will support supplier onboarding, PO processes, claims resolution, system compliance, and invoice reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading assigned procurement categories and developing sourcing strategies aligned with business and group priorities
- Managing supplier performance through scorecards, structured reviews, and SLAs
- Delivering end-to-end sourcing processes, including tender preparation, supplier briefing, negotiation, and contract award
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met across quality, cost, service, and flexibility
- Supporting supplier onboarding, PO management, claims resolution, and system compliance
- Collaborating with global procurement teams to align local execution with group strategy
- Ensuring adherence to procurement procedures and internal governance frameworks
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience managing contracts and running end-to-end tenders
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, supplier relationship management, and procurement systems
- Hands on experience with SAP and strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence across a global organisation
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability
- Ability to lead complex projects and work independently to meet deadlines
- A proactive, results driven mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
