About the Role
As the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain, you will be responsible for managing a £25m+ spend across goods and services, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality supplies to support outstanding patient care. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a dedicated team and play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategy, driving efficiencies, and mitigating supply chain risks.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Leadership
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals.
- Leverage digital procurement tools (e.g., ERFX) to enhance competitive sourcing.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive value through strategic sourcing.
- Lead contract negotiations and supplier relationship management.
Supply Chain Optimisation
- Oversee inventory management and stock optimisation across departments.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Develop contingency plans for critical supplies and ensure robust disaster recovery measures.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary contact for procurement and supply chain matters.
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams to align procurement with operational needs.
- Lead standardisation initiatives across departments and consultant groups.
Team Leadership
- Inspire and develop a high-performing procurement and supply chain team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Drive change management initiatives to establish best-in-class practices.
