Procurement Heads are working with a commercial non-profit organisation based on the outskirts of London, to support on the senior appointment of a Head of Procurement.
We’re looking for an experienced procurement professional to support the day-to-day operations of the procurement department and act as the strategic procurement partner to the Exec board. This role offers the opportunity to manage a medium sized team of capable Procurement Officers and Technical Managers.
You will act as the central advisory expert utilising detailed knowledge of Public Contract Regulations (2015) and Procurement Reform changes. This will include working with central and regional stakeholders, leading the ten-year procurement strategy. Your role will be vital for championing procurement across the organisation, working closely with the Chief Executive, COO, Technical Managers and the Director of Product Innovation.
Your responsibilities as the Head of Procurement will include
- Overseeing the day to day procurement programs
- Ensuring regulatory compliance
- Leading on procurement activities from business case development to tender evaluation and mobilization
- Optimisation of pricing frameworks for submission and post-tender analysis
- Management of the the external Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) platform
- Supervision of staff (Procurement and Technical Officers)
In addition, the role will place great importance for ensuring that the right regulatory awareness and training is provided, and that appropriate supplier assessments and due diligence is carried out. Collaboration with regional teams will also be essential for the development of new processes and policies.

Suitable candidate criteria
- Experience of working within public sector procurement (PCR2015)
- Experience of managing teams (performance management, mentorship and training skills are essential)
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships (externally and internally)
- MCIPS qualification is desired or studying towards
