Head of Procurement – 12 Month FTC

Salary: £75-£80,000 per annum

In this pivotal role, you will lead and shape our procurement activities, from technology transformation to major property investment programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Shape the operating framework for the Group’s procurement activities.
  • Project Management: Lead strategically important projects for our property investment and customer services teams.
  • Team Development: Manage and develop a small procurement team of four colleagues.
  • Expert Support: Provide specialist support and advice on procurement issues across the business.
  • Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and value for money.
  • System Oversight: Oversee procurement systems and technology, ensuring robust development, implementation, and engagement.
  • Value for Money: Embed an inclusive and progressive approach to value for money, incorporating ESG and social value.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced procurement leader with a proven track record of driving change and improvements within a procurement function. While experience in the housing sector is beneficial, a broad background across construction and general indirect categories is also valuable in the wider public sector.

  • Advisory Role: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, understanding market trends, procurement strategy options, and best practices.
  • Communication Skills: Provide assurance to senior leaders through best practice communication.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership skills and a natural coaching style to develop your team.
  • Qualifications: Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification in procurement (e.g., MCIPS).

Location & Travel: This role offers flexibility to work from home, with the requirement to attend face-to-face meetings monthly.
