Global Buyer – Finished Goods (12 month FTC)

Global Buyer role supporting strategy, core category management and new product development. 12 month contract with a leading brand.

Based in new London headquarters, an excellent opportunity for a Global Buyer to join a leading health and beauty brand on a 12 month fixed term contract basis, working on finished goods and new product development.

The Global Buyer role will support sourcing strategy and delivery of business objectives through effective management of supplier relationships, driving improving supplier performance and commercial negotiations.

Responsible for sourcing activities, core category management as well as new product development in a specific product category including:

  • Strategy and category management – focusing on the category portfolio products, supporting the senior lead buyer on the implementation of the sourcing strategy in accordance with business needs, implement the best suited supplier portfolio strategy for new products.
  • Lead and implement cost reduction and value creation initiatives, ensuring performance – Identifying and delivering cost saving and value creation opportunities through negotiations, resourcing, benchmarking and VRE activity ensuring the best value to cost for all NPD under your control. Work with cross functional team to ensure the NPD are delivered on time and to cost in alignment to business needs.
  • Manage cost forecasts, share and control assumptions for budget & individual product cost construction through all stage gates of the project. Work with the Sustainable sourcing function to support delivery of sustainability and ethical trade objectives
  • Commercially control spend, working creatively and in a SMART way to reduce overall costs whilst increasing efficiency
  • Supplier relationships management – Supporting the senior buyer on identifying and evaluating suppliers; review suppliers’ performance; lead supplier development efforts on all aspects of the value chain: costs, agility of supply, innovation, sustainability for each SKU.
  • Manage sourcing negotiations and contracting of dedicated markets: from RFQ/RFP to delivery of the product. Corporate Sourcing representative for a given number of projects. Ensure procurement and ethical protocols are documented and followed.
