ESG Procurement Lead – 12 month FTC

Procurement Heads is working with a highly esteemed professional services business, supporting their recruitment of an ESG Procurement Lead on an initial 12 month fixed term contract.

Overview
The ESG Procurement Lead will manage and play an integral role in driving the strategic direction.
This will be a dual focus position to lead the ESG agenda and support with procurement activities for business stakeholders across four business streams.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the delivery of ESG ‘How we Buy’ strategy and work closely with the ESG leadership team to embed into firmwide strategy.
  • Deliver training to the procurement team and ensure the ESG strategy is embedded in all procurement categories and buying channels.
  • Support other teams to maintain and improve accreditations and annual submissions for reporting bodies (e.g. Ecovadis and CDP)
  • Helping ensure ongoing supplier onboarding and supplier management/ capacity building activity addresses ESG targets.
  • Support the Category Management team with the strategic sourcing for all requirements e.g. HR, marketing, finance, professional services etc.
  • Work with the wider procurement team in the cost-effectiveness of negotiations with market leading suppliers and ensuring compliance of negotiated agreements to established vendor management policies (such as articulation of service levels and deliverables, etc).

Key Skills

You will be someone with:

  • A deep understanding of ESG in the context of Procurement and the supply market trends. Ability to identify Carbon reduction or ESG opportunities and build implementation business cases that align to category strategies. Solid understanding of ESG processes and reporting standards.
  • A very good understanding of procurement processes and contractual elements such as SLAs.
  • Understanding of contractual, commercial and operational working relationships with vendors to ensure effective delivery of committed products, services and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of contract management and negotiation.
  • Understanding of the vendor life cycle (sourcing, procurement, vendor management), and how internal roles interact and operate throughout the duration of vendor engagements.
  • Leadership skills and presence, with the ability to develop and present and/or communicate the Procurement vision and goals, acting as a source of knowledge and guidance.

Location, Remuneration and Timeframe

  • Hybrid working – expected 1-2 days per week office based (London or West Sussex).
  • £65,000 – £78,000pa, plus a 6% cash allowance, 28 days’ holiday and pension
  • 12-month fixed term contract

There is a good probability this position will convert to a permanent role in future, however candidates who would only be interested in the initial FTC position will still be considered.
