The Opportunity This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced procurement professional to shape and drive the strategic direction of procurement across the organisation. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Director of Procurement will lead a high-performing team and spearhead transformational change to elevate procurement excellence and ensure compliance with evolving legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023.
The Role As Director of Procurement, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Leading procurement excellence across delivery, compliance, assurance, and new build construction.
- Driving digital transformation and continuous improvement in procurement systems and processes.
- Building strong internal and external partnerships to ensure value-driven, compliant procurement.
- Ensuring robust governance, reporting, and compliance with public procurement regulations.
- Leading and mentoring a team of Heads of Procurement to foster a high-performance culture.
- Overseeing procurement lifecycle management and supporting sustainable construction procurement.
The Candidate We are seeking a strategic, forward-thinking leader with:
- Extensive experience in public procurement, ideally within housing or construction sectors.
- Deep knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023, Public Contract Regulations, and consumer standards.
- Proven ability to lead transformational change and deliver measurable improvements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with board-level presentation experience.
- A track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in digital procurement tools and a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Desirable experience in housing association or construction-related procurement and supply chain risk management.
