Digital Category Manager

Procurement Heads is recruiting a Digital Category Manager for a leading global hospital group.

Procurement Heads is working exclusively with a global private hospital group which operates in multiple countries to recruit this newly created role of Digital Category Manager in the IT and digital procurement function.

The role has come about due to a recent push for an organisation-wide digital transformation and investment programme across their multiple UK private hospitals.

With this push, comes a lot of ‘go-to-market’ RFPs, RFQs and RFIs for the IT & digital procurement team.

The IT & digital team oversees projects such as the implementation of digital patient applications, used for driving engagement with patients and looking after the 5,000 organisation-wide laptop estate and MFD fleet.

This role, first and foremost, will be managing sourcing projects and oversight of their print services, while leading on refreshing their mobile fleet, with this contract renewing next year.

Some of the challenges that will accompany this role will be dealing with difficult suppliers such as software vendors, and their MFD contracts used across their hospital network.

This role would see you working with multiple key vendors.

In terms of progression, this role offers a position in a growing function.

About you:

The business is headquartered in London, however, their hybrid working model will allow you to work from home mostly with the expectation to meet suppliers in person or travel to their hospital sites across the UK when required.  

The role necessitates an experienced candidate with a background in technology procurement, who knows how to run an RFP process, has a good grasp of the sourcing discipline, manages supplier communications, and operates at a level that supports the current Procurement Category Lead with the overall ongoing strategic projects.
