Commercial Procurement Lead

This newly created position play a crucial role in leading the Infrastructure Procurement team for this global giant in the travel sector. Overseeing the sourcing, procurement, implementation and post-contract management of professional services, consultancy agreements and CAPEX services and works. You will ideally have experience with NEC contracts given the nature of work. 

You will be closely partnering with senior stakeholders to align and implement short and long term procurement strategies in line with the wider business’s very exciting transformation strategy.

To be successful in the Commercial Lead role, you will need a commercial and market driven focus to lead and influence both internal and external stakeholders. You will be spearheading a team responsible for critical negotiations and on time execution of impactful capital projects across the business.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the delivery of the procurement strategy across Infrastructure – strategic and capital projects planning, with responsibility for its successful delivery.
  • Lead the development of new innovative strategies which will be presented to relevant senior stakeholders, using creative commercial models, market leading technology and trends that will drive competitive edge for the business.
  • Proactively engage with the business areas to help develop the business strategy through procurement insights and ensuring that procurement strategy and planning process is aligned to overall objectives.
  • Engage regularly with the external market e.g., new commercial models, market shifts, new product offerings, innovation, and trends; bring back best practices and lead initiatives to embed them within the sub-programmes.
  • Develop and manage pipeline of procurement activities for a programme, create strategic procurement plans and oversee the delivery of financial and non-financial value improvements through the management of end to end third party costs for the programme
  • Guide strategic sourcing activities for large value frameworks which align with the broader business / market strategies. This includes the subsequent implementation and oversight of all contracts in terms of contract variations, call offs, task orders, claims, contract performance and contract innovation / enhancements.
  • Managing the governance process and liaising with legal teams to ensure compliance.
  • You will also be leading a team of 10 Commercial Procurement Managers and will be responsible for coaching and development of the team capabilities. Building and leading a high performing team who deliver maximum value whilst mitigating risk is key

This role is paying up to £90,000 + 20% bonus + 25 days holiday + pension + Private medical and more.
