Category Manager – Marketing

If you’ve got solid experience in Marketing procurement and you’re ready to step into a role where you can truly own the strategy, this could be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

We’re working with a leading insurance brand to hire someone to lead the UK & Ireland procurement strategy for Marketing and Print, driving smarter decisions, building strong stakeholder relationships, and ensuring everything stays in line with FCA/PRA requirements.

You’ll have freedom to shape the strategy, manage supplier risk, and implement best-in-class procurement practices, all within a business that genuinely values flexibility, autonomy, and impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Taking full ownership of the Marketing and Print procurement category
  • Running the end-to-end process: from RFPs to supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management
  • Partnering closely with stakeholders, challenging briefs, refining requirements, and adding real value
  • Crafting and delivering a UK&I category strategy, especially where no global strategy exists
  • Managing contracts that hit the sweet spot between compliance, service quality, and commercial value
  • Keeping an eye on supplier performance, budgets, and contractual risk
  • Leveraging tools, data, and best practice to drive cost savings and deliver against KPIs

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in Marketing and Print procurement
  • Someone who’s curious, collaborative, and commercially sharp
  • Confidence to challenge stakeholders constructively and bring procurement to the table early
  • A good grip on risk, compliance, and budget management in a regulated environment

What’s In It for You

  • Salary up to £70,000
  • Annual bonus based on company + personal performance
  • Private medical insurance, life cover (up to 10x salary), and a generous pension (up to 12%)
  • 28 days’ holiday plus bank holidays—with the option to buy/sell 5 more
  • Hybrid working model: 3 days a week in the office (Bristol, Birmingham, Bolton or Redhill)
  • A visible role in a business where procurement is valued and supported
