Category Manager, Ingredients

This market leading FMCG organisation is looking to recruit a Category Manager to be based from flagship offices in Hertfordshire. The company has a turnover of £1.5 billion and is the market leader in many countries across the world.

This organisation has been developing their product for over 80 years and has built their brand around being the most dynamic creative and trusted organisation within their market.

With offices located across 9 countries this role requires a high calibre individual to join the business and drive their global strategy.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Category Management, to understand subject matter expertise while developing medium and long term buying strategies.
  • Cost savings and value delivery, you will be working with stakeholders to deliver the ideal solutions to ensure the best price had been realised.
  • Ensure value for money is delivered throughout all aspects of your role.
  • Supplier relationship Management, you will need to ensure that during your negotiations that the relationship with the supplier is at the forefront of your work, utilising SRM tools and techniques to ensure the relationship is enhanced.

About you:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years directs experience
  • You will need to have experience in Category Management & SRM principles
  • Understanding of the FMCG market
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong experience in a procurement process, must have exposure to RFx processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management and organisational skills

System Experience:

  • Understanding of SAP
  • Experience with eSourcing tools
  • Excellent experience of Microsoft Office suite
