Our client is looking for a skilled and strategic Category Manager in the Corporate Indirect space to join their Procurement team. Role & Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing across a range of categories including HR, marketing, finance, and professional services
- Support the Head of Procurement in delivering the Procurement 2028 vision and annual departmental objectives
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business streams (Audit, Tax, Deals, Consulting & Risk) and internal departments (IT, HR, Finance, etc.) to develop and maintain category plans
- Build and implement stakeholder engagement strategies that reflect a unified ‘one procurement’ approach
- Drive cost-effective negotiations with leading suppliers, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and vendor management frameworks
- Maintain vendor master data and support the rollout of purchase orders to strategic suppliers
- Ensure category management plans and supplier activities align with ESG targets and commercial priorities
- Act as a trusted partner to stakeholders and a point of escalation for supplier issues, driving resolution and continuous improvement
- Support vendor managers in optimising value delivery and business outcomes through effective relationship management
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of four years’ experience in category management across multiple categories, with some exposure to IT and technology procurement (e.g. SaaS)
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and vendor lifecycle management
- Excellent knowledge of SLAs, commercial models, and vendor relationship management
- Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and planning capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and drive continuous improvement
