Category Manager position working for one of the largest public sector organizations, South Coast of England
Procurement Heads is partnering with one of the largest and most established public sector organizations in Hampshire, to support them with an exclusive recruitment campaign including the appointment of a Category Manager.
About the role:
Working within a dynamic and reputable procurement function of 65 staff, you’ll report into the Senior Category Manager with prime focus on developing and implementing recommendations for the delivery of high-quality procurements. In doing so, you’ll have responsibility for ensuring delivery of cost-effective outcomes and continuous improvements in line with corporate objectives and UK Public Contract Regulations.
Procurement is category agnostic therefore presenting a fantastic opportunity for exposure to various departments including Adult and Children Social Care, Highways, Transport, Waste, Property & FM. Your aim will be to develop and evaluate category plans, options, systems, and processes over the short to medium term for the specific procurement category, for review and subsequent approval, by senior management where appropriate.
About you:
- You’ll need to demonstrate experience of overseeing high value, complex procurement processes including above threshold tenders (c. £500m and above).
- You’ll have in-depth working knowledge and understanding of UK Public Contract Regulations, procurement reforms and the wider Public Sector procurement landscape.
