A leading advertisement business, operating across all regions of the UK, has created a brand-new Buyer position to expand their existing Procurement function. The appointed Buyer will work across various categories, supporting with both direct and indirect spend portfolios.

Working closely with Category Leads and the Head of Procurement, the Buyer will be pivotal in delivery of key procurement strategy. It is essential that the selected candidate is effective in building and maintaining key business relationships, both internally and externally. Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing relationships with internal stakeholders to understand clearly business objectives and timelines, aligning this with procurement strategy and activity
  • Building relationships with suppliers, ensuring value and maximum benefit for both parties
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, providing relevant analytics and reporting in conjunction with this
  • Draft, negotiate and execute contracts with suppliers
  • Raising and issuing purchase orders
  • Evaluate and input into category strategy, working with the wider procurement team to advance procurement wherever possible

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Committed attitude with ambition to progress
  • Sound understanding of Procurement buying processes
  • Ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to negotiate with suppliers
