Procurement Heads’ Industrial team is working with a Fortune 500 manufacturing business to add an additional Buyer to their UK Procurement team.
Due to our client’s exceptional background in developing their staff, this opportunity can consider ambitious candidates new to procurement as well as those with proven relevant experience.
The Buyer will report into the UK Procurement Manager and take responsibility for the facilities and site services spend which does not already fall under major contracts (the tail end spend). You will build relationships across the 50+ UK and Ireland business sites, through working closely with key stakeholders and suppliers to ensure value and efficiency in relation to the facilities and services spend.
As Buyer (Facilities and Services) you will be responsible for;
- Assist the UK offices and production sites with their requirements in relation to facilities spend.
- Identify the opportunities for procurement to add value or reduce risk
- Find opportunities to divert the spend to current preferred suppliers
- Source new service providers where needed: Negotiate price, agree terms and conditions of purchase
- Identify trends within the tail end spend such as repeat purchases with the same suppliers, take action to consolidate the spend /create agreements
- Reduce number of tail end facilities spend suppliers in the UK through consolidation
- Minimise supply risks by proactively identify high risk suppliers and creating risk mitigation plans
- Raise procurement’s profile with the organisation by effectively communicating with stakeholders and sharing successes
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to extract the best value through partnership and driving supplier innovation.
- Develop and manage relationship with stakeholders to better manage the tail end spend
- Participate in service level reviews and agreements for the key contracts
Skills and Experience:
- Previous procurement experience in relation to Indirect spend (Facilities, business services, etc)
- Excellent stakeholder skills
- Confident skills with supplier sourcing and negotiation
- Positive attitude and desire to succeed and progress
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary £35- £55,000
- Hybrid working- 3 days a week in Weybridge
