A leading organisation within the engineering and rail industry is recruiting a Buyer.
Procurement Heads is working with a leading organisation that provides vehicle and railway maintenance across the globe, to recruit a Buyer.
This organisation has gone through growth in recent years. As a result, they are looking for an individual to join the team and aid with direct procurement and tendering activities.
You will be working within their procurement team of 7 individuals and managing a spend of £5-10m across direct goods and materials.
As a Buyer, your key responsibilities will be:
- Track and report key financial information, such as spend, material costs, savings and OTIF.
- Develop and manage key supplier relationships.
- Manage and improve supplier performance through the implementation of KPI’s.
- Maintain and manage inventory levels through their MRP system.
- Supporting the commercial and tendering function in obtaining supplier quotations for material and service requests.
- Ensuring crucial tender information is submitted to the commercial team in a timely manner.
- Liaising with key internal stakeholders, ensuring stakeholders are satisfied with procurement’s deliverables.
- Pre & post-tender supplier negotiations.
- Ensuring compliance with internal governance, following policies and procedures.
Qualifications and experience:
- CIPS or working towards (desirable)
- Able to read technical drawings (desirable)
Salary and benefits of the Buyer role:
- £35,000
