Tell us about your professional journey that led you to become a Recruitment Consultant.
After completing my placement year at a leading multinational IT company, I returned to university unsure about what career path I wanted to take.
After some research, I realised that recruitment could be the world for me!
Fast forward to the end of my third year at university, I found myself interviewing with Procurement Heads in-between my final year exams.
Luckily, the exams and interview paid off!
I joined Procurement Heads in September and have really enjoyed learning more about the industry and getting stuck in with recruitment.
What does the average working week in the life of Hannah look like?
I spend a lot of my week communicating with a diverse, blue-chip client base, working on complex roles and briefs.
I try to get out on the road once a week to meet my candidates face-to-face.
Getting to know my candidates and clients enables me to match specialist professionals to exacting requirements.
When I’m not out meeting people, I’m based at the offices in Southampton where I source for a variety of roles across Surrey and Sussex.
I’ve already found out that no two days are the same.
What is your favourite Procurement Heads memory?
Our end of quarter celebration at the Bombay Sapphire distillery was amazing!
I really enjoyed getting to know the team outside of work and being able to celebrate our successes.
Describe yourself in three words.
Organised, caring, easy-going.
What does success mean to you?
To me, success is about achieving goals, no matter how big or small they may be, over a given period of time.
I live my life by lists and there is nothing more satisfying than completing what you have to do and being able to see success come from your hard work!
Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your younger self?
Not to worry about what everyone else was doing with their career, not everyone is destined for the same path!
Everyone has different skills and wants to use them in different ways.
Eventually, you will find what you are good at and what you want to do.
Describe someone with a set of qualities you would value the most?
Outgoing, honest and down to earth.
What’s been your greatest professional success as a Recruitment Consultant?
When I achieved my first successful placement, I felt incredibly proud.
I also loved the bottle of champagne Rupert gave me as a way of saying congratulations.
What TV series are you currently watching?
I’m currently watching all of the American Horror Story series again.
What job would you be genuinely terrible at?
Anything that involves being outside; the cold and I don’t mix!
What’s your signature drink?
It’s always got to be champagne.
What’s your biggest pet hate?
As someone who loves lists, I struggle with disorganised people.
And finally, what’s your guilty pleasure?
Any kind of chocolate.
